This nationally recognised access course enables adult learners to move into Higher Education.
Perfect for those who have been out of education for some time, you will be able to progress directly onto a higher education course at university on completion of this Access programme.
This course aims to provide a balance of essential study skills with specialist subject knowledge to prepare you for university.
The following units are available on this course:
- Computing
- Databases
- Mathematics
- Networking
- Programming
- Website design
Learners will be assessed through coursework, presentations, debates and exams.
Access to HE Diploma courses are for students aged 19+ by 31st August in the year in which they start the Access programme.
You'll need to have completed a Level 2 qualification in ICT, Computing or Digital. We also require English & Maths qualifications - either GCSE grade 4 (C) or above - or Functional Skills Level 2 - in both subjects.
We recommend finding relevant work experience in either voluntary or paid employment to support your UCAS application. Universities often expect students to have some work experience before they start a course, however this is not compulsory.
On completion of this course, you will have the qualifications needed to apply to university, where you can study areas including:
- Computer Science
- Information Technology
- Business and Information Systems
- Network Engineering
- Software Engineering
- Cyber Security and Games Design degrees.
Full 60 Credit Diploma with 45 credits graded units and 15 ungraded study skills.
Maximum UCAS 144 points from the course.
If you have a Level 2 functional skills qualification, it is important that you check with your chosen university to ensure it will be accepted as part of the entry requirements for your degree program.
