“A lot of universities and employers ask for work experience - with a T Level, you get that built in.”
Aaron studies Business and is working towards completing his T Level qualification, which combines classroom learning with a substantial industry placement.
As part of the course, he completed a work placement at Tower Hamlets Council, where he supported a variety of departments including the fostering team and adult social services. His responsibilities involved using tools like Google Sheets and Microsoft Office to carry out real administrative tasks.
Aaron says, “I got to experience how different teams work and apply my skills in a real setting.”
Aaron also took part in a series of masterclasses through the college’s Career Ready programme, which helped him build confidence, improve teamwork and refine his public speaking.
“My teacher, Dilon, really helped me develop my presentation skills - that made a big difference.”
Next, Aaron is aiming to secure an Apprenticeship in business or administration. If not, he’s prepared to step straight into full-time employment.
His advice to anyone considering a T Level?
“It’s really helpful - you leave with qualifications and meaningful work experience, which employers and universities really value.”
