“We never thought we’d be developing apps and digital board games but here we are.”
Brothers Daniel and David chose to study the T Level in Digital Production together, driven by a shared interest in tech and a desire to develop real skills for the future. The course not only strengthened their technical abilities but also gave them exciting hands-on experiences and industry insight.
David discovered a love for programming during the course. He learned how to build websites, games and apps - something he never expected to be doing so soon. “If you'd told me at the start that I’d develop a digital version of a board game, I’d have laughed but I actually did it.”
As part of their work placement, the brothers helped digitise Numbers on the Loose, turning the physical board game into a playable digital format. They also worked with Digital Skills, consulting on a real-world project, taking part in a competition to tackle a problem faced by 13-18-year-olds. Their group created a prototype app focused on supporting those with porn addiction - winning Best Presentation for their pitch.
When asked what helped them succeed most, both agreed immediately: “Our tutors, Haris and Henry. Their guidance made all the difference.”
Looking ahead, David is continuing his studies with a Level 4 course in computing, with plans to move through to Level 6 and launch a career in the IT industry. Daniel is considering joining his brother for the next stage of study or taking a gap year before moving directly into the second year of university.
Both credit the T Level with preparing them for whatever comes next.
“The course gave us real-world skills, confidence, and a clear path forward.”
