A former IT student wowed judges in the WorldSkills National Final (UK) that was held in Scotland last week.
Shahin Kotarja, 20, from Romford, competed in the IT Support Technician category that took place in Motherwell at New College Lanarkshire, Scotland. He was selected as one of the top performers in the competition from National Qualifiers held across the UK.
The competition is designed to test the competitors’ ability to configure IT hardware and software to meet customer requirements. Each competitor had to demonstrate their skills not just in IT, but to attention to detail, time management, customer service, interpersonal skills, troubleshooting software and flexibility.
Despite tough competition, Shahin was selected as a finalist, and his former College couldn’t be happier for him.
I am so proud of Shahin for reaching the final of the WorldSkills UK competition and wish him all the best for the future.
